What the server keeps

When you turn on alerts in the iPhone app, the Queue Drops server keeps what it needs to send them, against your device's push token from Apple:

None of this names you. When you delete the app, Apple stops accepting its token and the server deletes the device the next time it tries to reach it.

The server also keeps daily totals of how it is used, such as how many alerts it sent, how many times each park was looked at and how many devices used it each day. They are counts only, with no push tokens, addresses or anything that could tell one person's use from another's.

It also keeps a log of the requests it handles, saying which page or data was asked for, when, whether it worked and how long it took, for 7 days, to find and fix problems. The log doesn't record your IP address or anything else that identifies you or your device.

What stays on your iPhone

Your location, motion readings for ride detection and your queue timer stay on your iPhone. When a queue ends, the app tells the server only which ride it was, how many minutes it took, whether you rode and whether it was Fast Track, without your device token, and the server adds it to the day's totals. Once a day the app also sends counts of which of its features you used and which kinds of error it ran into, such as a dropped connection, with its version number and without your device token or the error's details; the server adds them to that day's totals too. You can turn this off with “Share Usage Counts” in the app's settings. Park visits and your ride log are kept on your iPhone and, with “Keep in iCloud” on, in your own iCloud account. The server never receives them; the visits page signs in with your Apple Account and reads them from iCloud in your browser. Its downloads are made in your browser too, and a file you import there goes straight from your browser to your iCloud.

Purchases

Apple handles payment. Queue Drops sees only the signed record of what you bought, to check it.

Feedback

“Send Feedback” in the app opens an email to support@queuedrops.app with the app's version, your iPhone's model and iOS version and the park you're looking at filled in, which you can change or delete before sending. Emails are used only to answer you and fix what you report, are never shared, and are deleted on request.

Queue times

Wait times come from the parks' own live ride data. Queue Drops is not affiliated with any park or park operator.
